“We are most alive when we are in love.”
– John Updike
It is Valentine’s week! I LOVE Valentine’s Day. What a great day to connect with people—even strangers. Every year I buy little kid’s valentines and hand them out to strangers and make them happy. That makes ME happy too. I hand them out when I pick up my dry cleaning, at the grocery story, at the post office, at the coffee shop, even in the parking lot when I go to my car. I would even hand them to a police officer if he were stopping me and I would surely give them to the firemen. You can’t imagine how many times these strangers have said to me, “Oh, thank you. (big smile), you really made my day!” It’s fun! EVERYONE WINS!
Instead of a tip this week, I’ll give you quotes and let you make your own love connections:
“What the world needs now is love, sweet love.
–You know where this came from, don’t you?
“Love cures people—both the ones who give it and the ones who receive it.”
“All we need is love.”
–Everyone knows where this one came from, right?
“The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in.”
–Morrie Schwartz, from Tuesdays with Morrie
“Who, being loved, is poor?”
“There is always some madness in love. But there is also always some reason in madness.”
“Have enough courage to trust love one more time and always one more time.”
