ATTITUDE – Fresh Perspectives

Good Morning!


We have all heard and said, “Attitude is Everything!”. Well – it really is! Last week we started developing some ways to shift our perspective. Have you noticed with a shift in perspective that it also produces a shift in your attitude and emotions? They all tie together. Would you like to have a more positive attitude? Good news – you can make that happen.

It simply takes the ability to STOP yourself and redirect your thinking. This is a very important skill, but it takes consistent practice and application. Let’s work some more on this critical life skill (shifting our perspective and attitude) and as we do create a new and very healthy and vibrant habit!

Here is your vibrant tip for the week! – Three Steps to change your attitude right away:

Please take a moment and consider what in your life right now is producing anxiety or some sort of negative emotion. Don’t worry if it is a small thing. Those come often in our lives and are great occasions to work on transforming our attitude.

The three steps in creating an attitude shift (if it is anything less than vibrantly joyful or compassionate) are again:

  1. STOP and Reflect on how you are looking at the circumstance or situation that is producing the emotions (be it a cloudy day or an issue at work or home or life. Consciously admit: “I am looking at ________ as __________”. (EXAMPLE: I am looking at my tax loss as a failure.)


  2. Ask yourself, “What is another way I could see this or think about this?” Where is the good in this? Where is the growth potential in this? Find one of those positive perspectives.


  3. Come up with several until you find one that makes you feel better, lighter. Then try that one on as the lens you see through today. Now say: “I am now looking at ___________ as ________”. (EXAMPLE: I am looking at my tax loss as a great learning opportunity for next year.)

 

You’ve just instantly, intentionally and consciously shifted your attitude! Do it again and again. You will be amazed at the change in your life!
